Killing Beneficial Bugs

My latest creative obsession (in a good way) is to make digital posters for online distribution out of images that I take. These posters contain thoughts and beliefs that describe my opinions and perspectives. In the last two days, I have released two posters promoting the message: “Ban Neonics”. My personal creative goal is to create a poster a day to help save the bees. So, what follows is my offering for today… hot off the PhotoShop press.

I have named this poster: “Killing Beneficial Bugs”. If you’d like to hire me to create a poster for your cause, please E-Mail me at alishatheexplorer@gmail.com. My fee is $150 per poster — you provide the high-resolution image and words. And, to show my true concern for the pollinators, I will donate half of my fee to support the projects produced by Pollinator Support Movement (PSM), and list your name as a supporter (and poster design!) in an article on the PSM website.

Neonics is short for Neonicotinoids (yes, like Nicotine). Neonicotinoids are a synthetic neuro toxic current used MOST EVERYWHERE that crops and bugs are. Now, whether of now you are a “bug person”, it would only take you a couple of seconds to search online and figure out that, without bugs, you would die. Go ahead, research it. Frankly, the bugs that we NEED to be saving (as a global community) are food pollinators. There are a good handful of food crop pollinators that are dying FAST because of synthetic herbicides, insecticides, and pesticides. Either, we get our shit together and learn how to keep food pollinators alive, or, we face a few terrible consequences.

What kind of consequences? First, a majority of the vegetables, spices, nuts, and fruits that you enjoy purchasing in the store will NOT be widely available (or, at all). Why? Because the beneficial bugs (pollinators!) that are dying from the Neonicotinoids usage weren’t able to pollinate the produce and food that you want to buy. Next, natural and landscaped gardens all over the planet will fail; and Spring will cease to occur. And then, our bodies aren’t able to fight-off disease. Why? Well, because the foods that pollinators provide for us are the same foods that prevent our bodies from rapidly aging and decomposing.

My point: please join Pollinator Support Movement (PSM) — it’s FREE — and learn about how you can help to stop the sales and usage of toxic chemicals like Neonics. Thank You for reading and for your continued support.

Newsflash Poster

Written by Alisha “Bee” Forrester Scott  |  Alisha is a writer, social activist, and founder of Pollinator Support Movement PSM.

This has been a busy bee kind of week! Don Bee is still hard at work, getting enough signatures from Berkeley, CA, resident voters. If he succeeds, his ballot initiative to ban neonics in Berkeley goes to a vote this year! If he is short of signatures, he would keep working to gather signatures, and his proposed ballot measure would be voted on in 2016. Of course, I hope that Don gets enough signatures! If you are in the Berkeley, CA, or San Francisco Bay Area and want to help Don “Bee” somehow, please E-Mail to PSM at: doyoulikefood@gmail.com.

Personally, I think that one of my new favorite ways to unwind is to create a save the bees poster. In the poster shown below, notice the “fence” image? Well, I took that earlier today in Sedona, AZ. Tonight, I created the poster design. I realize that both my font and color choices are all over the board, but I was going for creative (no pressure!). Enjoy and please re-post the poster! ❤

Click here if you haven’t already joined Pollinator Support Movement (PSM). Thank You, and we really need to band together so that the planet’s bees and other important pollinators don’t go extinct!

I am a social activist for the cause of saving and restoring bees and the food supply chain. I am a writer, artist, and entrepreneur with a large network of artist-run creative and professional businesses that have agreed to a collective project to save the bees. We are in the midst of linking assets, in order to launch a public art and educational collective. We will focus on creative storytelling, and sustainable educational systems development. I would like to talk more with other professional services providers about part of a possible crowd funding project. If you’re interested, please contact me at alishatheexplorer.com, or by my E-Mail to doyoulikefood@gmail.com.

Thank You & Sincerely,

Alisha “Bee”

Earning Money To Save The Bees

Written by Alisha “Bee”  |  Alisha is a writer, artist, and social entrepreneur.

Let’s get to it.

I am an entrepreneur trying to raise money for a bunch of projects.  I create art, music, products, and produce sustainable, community-inspired projects that help to save and restore bees and the food supply chain.  I need your continued support, as I try to build an online and offline-compatible system of doing my own business; which benefits our many ailing communities.  [Read: Social entrepreneurship] #dothework #joybasedcommerce

This post will act as my Spring newsletter.  Here is some progressive news about my Day of Wedding Timeline Organizer Flashcards (“wedding flashcards”) product.  I am giving away half of the net proceeds on this product; to Pollinator Support Movement.  Fifty-percent (50%) of net online sales from this product will benefit (fund) Pollinator Support Movement‘s educational community improvement projects.

Wedding Day Technology (campaign)

My initial “Wedding Flashcards.com” website is being cross-promoted through an ad campaign project that I will be producing.  This ad campaign will aim to widely advertise to North American brides and their wedding team.  All of this ad hoopla will promote sales of my “Day of Wedding Timeline Organizer Flashcards” professional planning tool (product).  Visit weddingflashcards.com to visit the current product website.  Note: sales are not currently being fulfilled.  This website is forever in production and editing.  But, I do plan to update all product web designs as soon as my new start-up budget, or, opportunity allows.

I hope to be able to hire my colleague project partner, Mark Short, as my ad campaign’s creative direction supervisor and designer.  Or, whatever he would want to do.  Mark is one of my favorite creative expert professionals.

Recently, Mark gave me two points on image crop and color for my current (new) wedding flashcards ad campaign concept piece.  I took his easy advice, and then added some conceptual elements to make this image into a sales ad (flyer).  I am already wondering: “If I give this conceptual ad to Mark, how would he interpret it in his own design style?”

Below is the conceptual ad design that I just mentioned:

Re: Ad campaign (Continued):

“My new, promotional ad campaign called, “Wedding Day Technology.com” will feature spacey-sustainable modern art as inspirational themes, and will promote the “wedding flashcards” product.  This campaign will also be cross-promoted at the recently purchased URL, Wedding Planning Forms.com.”  Alisha M. Forrester Scott, CEO of Alisha the Explorer, operator at Alisha Bee.com, founder of Pollinator Support Movement, creator of Wedding Flashcards.com product.

And, in other news:

Personal Business Card Lesson: My belief is that any business card design of mine should be fun and help to tell my story (for an affordable price).  My moo.com cards have arrived.

If you would like to learn more about moo, please click this link, so that Pollinator Support Movement gets my 50% net profit donation!

For this first lot of business cards, I have placed three images from my Pollinator Support Movement work, in Berkeley, CA (sometimes with Don “Bee” Hughes, a.k.a. Dragon Master), on the back of the cards.  On the front of the slightly-oversized business cards (with rounded edges/corners), I have placed a selfie image that I took while on a hike with Mark.  (Notice how I actually look happy.  I actually am a happy person.)  Oh, and there is a lot of exciting save the bees activism news coming from Berkeley, CA, involving Don Bee.  (I will be writing about it, soon.)  But, I digress.

I’ll post a snapshot of the business cards, soon.  For now, this is one of the three images which I’ve used as the other side to my new business cards: “Don Bee and Alisha Bee in Berkeley CA 2012”

Happy Spring!  OK + Thanks For Reading.

More updates will continue to come as I get further along in all of my projects.

New Experience: Final Print

The post below was borrowed with permission from Alisha’s Blog.

New Experience: Final Print

Written by Alisha “Bee” Forrester Scott

With the upcoming release of my first product, Day of Wedding Timeline Organizer Flashcards, and thanks to the non-profit discounts made available to me by Pinnacle Printing in Tempe, AZ, I will soon have an online retail program that will fund my bees awareness community projects with Pollinator Support Movement (PSM).

“The purpose of the wedding flashcards product is to help anyone planning a wedding to quickly schedule and monitor important wedding day details.  This professional planning tool has many benefits, and may be used with any event coordinator’s existing planning method.” Alisha M. Forrester Scott, product creator

After toiling with typesetting the final product design for the last six months, I recently ordered the first printed version of the market-ready flashcards deck.  There is actually one other printed product version that I am trying out, just to see which version is more user-friendly.  This second flashcards deck version will be printed sometime this week or next.  Unless I can get down to Phoenix in the next two weeks, I will likely have Pinnacle Printing mail both printed sets to my residence.

Additionally, I recently updated the Wedding Flashcards website, adding a link to downloadable the official product guide.  Click here to view the official Day of Wedding Timeline Organizer Flashcards product guide.  At this moment, my final project tasks include: taking product photos, designing final labeling, selecting final packaging, creating the “Master Timeline” online form, design the online promo campaign, and set-up SEO for the website.

Visit my product website at http://weddingflashcards.com.

The wedding flashcards project has been on my plate for over three years!  I am itching to “get this baby birthed” and free-up some energy to develop my other entrepreneurial interests.  With each flashcards deck that is sold online, I am offering 50% of my net profits to PSM.  You know… because the work to save and restore bees and the food supply chain MUST be done, and it isn’t exactly funded by anyone at this point.  Thank You for your support.  I am very interested in seeing this product perform well in the marketplace.  The bees are counting on me.

Dragon Master of DVD Cover Art

Written by Alisha “Bee” Forrester Scott

Known in the Bay Area CA as Dragon Master, performance artist and activist Don “Bee” Hughes has agreed to design the cover art for the upcoming PSM educational DVD release, “Bee-Friendly: BeeSWeek 2013”.  I had the sincere pleasure of working with Don in 2012 to produce 11-weeks of “Weekly Wednesday Peaceful Protests” in Berkeley CA.  Don “Bee” is a multi-talented artist who created many of the popular handmade flyers and signs for PSM.

Insider Note

Look for a Dragon Master exclusive music feature on the upcoming PSM Indiegogo educational DVD fundraising campaign video.  If you love bees, and hate what is happening to them, you will appreciate Dragon Master.
