Newsflash Poster

Written by Alisha “Bee” Forrester Scott  |  Alisha is a writer, social activist, and founder of Pollinator Support Movement PSM.

This has been a busy bee kind of week! Don Bee is still hard at work, getting enough signatures from Berkeley, CA, resident voters. If he succeeds, his ballot initiative to ban neonics in Berkeley goes to a vote this year! If he is short of signatures, he would keep working to gather signatures, and his proposed ballot measure would be voted on in 2016. Of course, I hope that Don gets enough signatures! If you are in the Berkeley, CA, or San Francisco Bay Area and want to help Don “Bee” somehow, please E-Mail to PSM at: doyoulikefood@gmail.com.

Personally, I think that one of my new favorite ways to unwind is to create a save the bees poster. In the poster shown below, notice the “fence” image? Well, I took that earlier today in Sedona, AZ. Tonight, I created the poster design. I realize that both my font and color choices are all over the board, but I was going for creative (no pressure!). Enjoy and please re-post the poster! ❤

Click here if you haven’t already joined Pollinator Support Movement (PSM). Thank You, and we really need to band together so that the planet’s bees and other important pollinators don’t go extinct!

Berkeley CA Ballot Report

Written by Alisha “Bee” Forrester Scott  |  Alisha is a writer and social activist, and the 2012 Founder of Pollinator Support Movement PSM.

Perhaps you already read about Don “Bee”, and his contribution to the community and pollinators of Berkeley, California? Don, whose real name is Donald Hughes, has been working daily to get enough signatures on a proposed ballot measure that would seriously restrict and in some cases ban the neonicotinoid pesticide chemicals that are shown throughout the world to be destroying bees, and pollinators of all types.

You could say that Don “Bee” is the Bay Area PSM Collective chapter president. Recently, I added Don Bee to the list of approved authors for the PSM website (pollinatorsupportmovement.com), and have invited him to post about his work and daily experiences. (You know, just in case I can’t cover it as quickly as he needs help with.)

To reach Don directly, or to offer help, E-Mail to: kamiyodojo.ca@gmail.com

If you would like to sign-up to be a part of the bee-saving collective known as Pollinator Support Movement, please click here.

Collecting signatures is energy-consuming work in Berkeley, CA

Collecting signatures at a farmers market is energy-consuming work in Berkeley, CA. Don is wearing his signature bee costume. He’s been known not to leave home without it.

The deadlines for signatures collection was originally May 5, 2014 (yesterday). But, Don says that the Berkeley City Council is supposed to be meeting soon, and discuss whether or not to allow Don’s proposed initiative more time to collect signatures.

When asked about his work, Don says: “Whether we get the deadline extended or not, we will still keep gathering signatures for the next election. We will pressure politicians and persuade people. We will not stop until neonicotinoid pesticides are banned.”

More About Don

To properly say THANK YOU to Don for his incredible community work, I’d like to praise some of his other talents and projects. What I like about Don, personally, are his abilities to draw, and to talk to people into being peaceful. When I was living in the Bay Area, and attempting to launch Pollinator Support Movement in October of 2012, Don was THE FIRST PERSON that stepped-up to help. PSM is forever indebted to Don’s community organization and public speaking abilities.

Did you know that Don has OTHER names, too? It’s true! As an established black belt and instructor in Ninpo Taijutsu, Don is also known as Sensei. And, when he is performing in public as an entertainer, he is known as Dragon Master (“the world’s first Choose Your Own Adventure (series) rock and roll artist”). If you are in the East Bay area of San Francisco, CA, look Don up!

I am a social activist for the cause of saving and restoring bees and the food supply chain. I am a writer, artist, and entrepreneur with a large network of artist-run creative and professional businesses that have agreed to a collective project to save the bees. We are in the midst of linking assets, in order to launch a public art and educational collective. We will focus on creative storytelling, and sustainable educational systems development. I would like to talk more with other professional services providers about part of a possible crowd funding project. Earning Money To Save The Bees

Written by Alisha “Bee”  |  Alisha is a writer, artist, and social entrepreneur.

Let’s get to it.

I am an entrepreneur trying to raise money for a bunch of projects.  I create art, music, products, and produce sustainable, community-inspired projects that help to save and restore bees and the food supply chain.  I need your continued support, as I try to build an online and offline-compatible system of doing my own business; which benefits our many ailing communities.  [Read: Social entrepreneurship] #dothework #joybasedcommerce

This post will act as my Spring newsletter.  Here is some progressive news about my Day of Wedding Timeline Organizer Flashcards (“wedding flashcards”) product.  I am giving away half of the net proceeds on this product; to Pollinator Support Movement.  Fifty-percent (50%) of net online sales from this product will benefit (fund) Pollinator Support Movement‘s educational community improvement projects.

Wedding Day Technology (campaign)

My initial “Wedding Flashcards.com” website is being cross-promoted through an ad campaign project that I will be producing.  This ad campaign will aim to widely advertise to North American brides and their wedding team.  All of this ad hoopla will promote sales of my “Day of Wedding Timeline Organizer Flashcards” professional planning tool (product).  Visit weddingflashcards.com to visit the current product website.  Note: sales are not currently being fulfilled.  This website is forever in production and editing.  But, I do plan to update all product web designs as soon as my new start-up budget, or, opportunity allows.

I hope to be able to hire my colleague project partner, Mark Short, as my ad campaign’s creative direction supervisor and designer.  Or, whatever he would want to do.  Mark is one of my favorite creative expert professionals.

Recently, Mark gave me two points on image crop and color for my current (new) wedding flashcards ad campaign concept piece.  I took his easy advice, and then added some conceptual elements to make this image into a sales ad (flyer).  I am already wondering: “If I give this conceptual ad to Mark, how would he interpret it in his own design style?”

Below is the conceptual ad design that I just mentioned:

Re: Ad campaign (Continued):

“My new, promotional ad campaign called, “Wedding Day Technology.com” will feature spacey-sustainable modern art as inspirational themes, and will promote the “wedding flashcards” product.  This campaign will also be cross-promoted at the recently purchased URL, Wedding Planning Forms.com.”  Alisha M. Forrester Scott, CEO of Alisha the Explorer, operator at Alisha Bee.com, founder of Pollinator Support Movement, creator of Wedding Flashcards.com product.

And, in other news:

Personal Business Card Lesson: My belief is that any business card design of mine should be fun and help to tell my story (for an affordable price).  My moo.com cards have arrived.

If you would like to learn more about moo, please click this link, so that Pollinator Support Movement gets my 50% net profit donation!

For this first lot of business cards, I have placed three images from my Pollinator Support Movement work, in Berkeley, CA (sometimes with Don “Bee” Hughes, a.k.a. Dragon Master), on the back of the cards.  On the front of the slightly-oversized business cards (with rounded edges/corners), I have placed a selfie image that I took while on a hike with Mark.  (Notice how I actually look happy.  I actually am a happy person.)  Oh, and there is a lot of exciting save the bees activism news coming from Berkeley, CA, involving Don Bee.  (I will be writing about it, soon.)  But, I digress.

I’ll post a snapshot of the business cards, soon.  For now, this is one of the three images which I’ve used as the other side to my new business cards: “Don Bee and Alisha Bee in Berkeley CA 2012”

More updates will continue to come as I get further along in all of my projects.

Affiliated

Written by Alisha “Bee” Forrester Scott  |  Alisha is a writer, artist, and social entrepreneur.

I am happy to be using much of my energy to develop an online retail fundraising shop called Alisha Bee.com. This online shop will house products which I find have obvious benefits to consumers. The purpose of launching this type of online shop is to raise the necessary funds to finance the many vital Pollinator Support Movement projects that will continue to benefit the restoration of the bees while educating our local communities on how to sustain them.

Very recently, I have added two new products to the “Affiliates Section” at Alisha Bee.com.  One of the two products currently available is a highly-rated dental hygiene product called GumChucks.  I have personally used this flossing product since December 2012, and can report that I have no objections to using the product… it seems perfect.

The other product available for sale is a USDA organic e-cigarette “juice” from a company called “Virgin Vapor”.  I found this product last summer 2013, after researching what was in the corner store e-cigarette liquids.  (Read: Toxic chemicals.)  Personally, I am not a cigarette smoker.  But, the reason for my research was that a loved one was purchasing the corner store liquid, and I tried it… and it even tasted toxic.

Please benefit from my research and personal reports on these products.  And, when you click on the banners listed in the “Affiliate Section” at Alisha Bee.com, you’ll be purchasing directly from the companies that sell the products while simultaneously benefitting Pollinator Support Movement.  I have made agreements with both GumChucks and Virgin Vapor so that any time you click on the banners and purchase the products from their respective websites, PSM will get a small amount of money back.  Over time, I believe that this small amount of money will pay-off BIG, and PSM will be able to fund the vital projects.

For now, I am still working on the actual shop.alishabee.com.  This “other” section of my shop will feature items that I have in inventory… like the upcoming release of the Wedding Flashcards product.  Thank You for your ongoing support.  You are invited to reach and enjoy my daily production of Alisha’s Blog.

The mission of Pollinator Support Movement is to save and restore bees and the food supply chain.

New Experience: Final Print

The post below was borrowed with permission from Alisha’s Blog.

New Experience: Final Print

Written by Alisha “Bee” Forrester Scott

With the upcoming release of my first product, Day of Wedding Timeline Organizer Flashcards, and thanks to the non-profit discounts made available to me by Pinnacle Printing in Tempe, AZ, I will soon have an online retail program that will fund my bees awareness community projects with Pollinator Support Movement (PSM).

“The purpose of the wedding flashcards product is to help anyone planning a wedding to quickly schedule and monitor important wedding day details.  This professional planning tool has many benefits, and may be used with any event coordinator’s existing planning method.” Alisha M. Forrester Scott, product creator

After toiling with typesetting the final product design for the last six months, I recently ordered the first printed version of the market-ready flashcards deck.  There is actually one other printed product version that I am trying out, just to see which version is more user-friendly.  This second flashcards deck version will be printed sometime this week or next.  Unless I can get down to Phoenix in the next two weeks, I will likely have Pinnacle Printing mail both printed sets to my residence.

Additionally, I recently updated the Wedding Flashcards website, adding a link to downloadable the official product guide.  Click here to view the official Day of Wedding Timeline Organizer Flashcards product guide.  At this moment, my final project tasks include: taking product photos, designing final labeling, selecting final packaging, creating the “Master Timeline” online form, design the online promo campaign, and set-up SEO for the website.

Visit my product website at http://weddingflashcards.com.

The wedding flashcards project has been on my plate for over three years!  I am itching to “get this baby birthed” and free-up some energy to develop my other entrepreneurial interests.  With each flashcards deck that is sold online, I am offering 50% of my net profits to PSM.  You know… because the work to save and restore bees and the food supply chain MUST be done, and it isn’t exactly funded by anyone at this point.  Thank You for your support.  I am very interested in seeing this product perform well in the marketplace.  The bees are counting on me.
